Helpful Info to Make the Most of Your Stay
At Deerhill Inn Bed and Breakfast, we strive to provide a relaxing and seamless stay for all our guests by maintaining clear and thoughtful policies. From flexible cancellation guidelines to check-in details, our policies are designed to ensure comfort, fairness, and smooth experiences. Cancellation & Advance Deposit Policy
Your deposit will be charged at the time of booking:
- For a one-night stay: Your Deposit will be your total lodging charges, plus tax.
- For a stay of more than one night: your deposit will be 50% of your total lodging charges, plus tax.
If you need to cancel your Reservation:
- More than 14 days from noon on the date of your arrival, your Deposit will be refunded less a $35 Cancellation Fee per room, plus tax, covering credit card and booking charges.
- Less than 14 days from noon on the date of your arrival, your Deposit is not refundable, but you may re-use it towards a new stay within 12 months of the arrival date of your cancelled booking, subject to availability. If you cancel your rescheduled visit at any time, you may lose your Deposit.
- Within 5 days of noon on your arrival date during Christmas Week, Presidents’ Week or Foliage Season; or within 72 hours of noon on your arrival date at any other times, you are responsible for full payment of all lodging and any other charges including tax, for the entire reserved stay. This includes cancellations for any reason including weather, “no shows”, late arrivals, early departures or medical issues.
Changes to Booking Dates
We will do our best to accommodate changes to your booking date, subject to availability and at our discretion. If we cannot reschedule your stay, our Cancellation Policy set out above will apply. Of course, the earlier you can let us know that you need to reschedule, the easier it will be for us to help!
Service Charges
We do not add a service charge to your bill. If you would like to recognize their service by offering a gratuity to our Housekeepers, they do always appreciate this kindness. You will find information on how to do this in our Restaurant and in your guest room, and we are always happy to help. Our staff keep 100% of their gratuities, and we pay any associated credit card charges for them.
Children
We welcome children over 12 years old however the Inn is not suitable for younger children. We do not have cribs, high chairs or a children’s menu.
Pets
We are sorry, but we cannot accept guest pets at the Inn: this may cause problems for other guests. Our own Mini Schnauzer Josie lives at the Inn. Josie is a very friendly small dog with hypoallergenic hair not fur and she does not shed however she is not allowed in the guest rooms. Check-In
From 3:00 pm on your arrival date. With advance notice, we may be able to offer a slightly earlier check-in — please let us know as soon as possible.
Check-Out
By 11:00 am on your departure date. Please give us as much notice as possible if you would prefer to check-out a little later, and we will accommodate you if we can.
Smoking
Smoking inside a hospitality property is against the law in Vermont, and we do not allow smoking anywhere inside the Inn. Guests may smoke in the porches and grounds provided no other guests are inconvenienced. If we need to deep-clean your room due to smoking, an extra charge will apply.
