Deerhill Open House Dinners

Throughout the year, Deerhill Inn features a series of Open House dinners, which are open to our houseguests plus the general public. Each five-course dinner has a distinct theme and is created to highlight the best that Vermont has to offer. Each course is paired with a wine from our award winning New World Wine list.

 

 

Friday, August 29 - A Celebration of Vermont Artisanal Cheeses

A five-course dinner highlighting the varieties of Vermont Cheese and summer
fruits paired with the wines of Kunde Estate Winery & Vineyards, Sonoma, California.

First Course

  • Corn Crepes with Heirloom Tomatoes and Bacon, with Grilled Scallions. Vermont Butter and Cheese's Fresh Chevre - paired with Kunde Estate Magnolia Lane Sauvignon Blanc

Second Course

  • Grilled Summer Vegetables. Fondue of Peaked Mountain Farm's Eve Jersey, Sheep and Cow's Milk Aged Cheese - paired with Kunde Estate Chardonnay

Third Course

  • Roasted Baby Beets. Served with Green Mountain Blue Cheese Company's Boucher Blue Cheese Custard and a Balsamic Vinegar Reduction - paired with Kunde Estate Zinfandel

Fourth Course

  • Filet of Beef. Served with Maple Brook Farm's Fresh Mozzarella, Tomatoes, Grilled Onions and a Red Wine Sauce Flavored with Basil - paired with Kunde Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

Fifth Course

  • Selection of Artisan Goat Cheeses with Fresh Summer Fruits

Cocktails at 6:30 PM with cash bar

Dinner at 7:00 PM

Saturday, September 27 - Vermont Life Wine & Harvest Festival

A wine dinner, in conjunction with the Vermont Life Wine & Harvest Festival,
featuring Vermont wines and produce.

First Course

  • Scallops & Mushrooms - paired with North Branch Seyval, 2007

Second Course

  • Seared Foie Gras with Apples & Dried Cherries - paired with Eden Ice Cider Company, Ice Cider

Third Course

  • Butternut Squash Ravioli with Maple Brook Ricotta & Mozzarella - paired with Honey Gardens Meadery, Traditional Mead

Fourth Course

  • Stuffed Roast Pork Loin - paired with Boyden Valley Cassis.

Fifth Course

  • Cinnamon Roasted Pears on Hazelnut Puff Pastry, Cinnamon Ice Cream - paired with North River Winery, Vermont Harvest Wine

Friday, October 31 - A Hunting We Will Go

A five-course dinner including pheasant, quail, and venison with seasonal
Vermont produce and hearty wines from a single winery (to be determined).
